The Bainbridge High School Drama Club and Thespian Troupe 4897 have begun their work on BHS’ next one act production of “Little Women” adapted by Marisha Chamberlain. “Little Women” is a novel written in the 1860s during the Civil War. It is a coming-of-age story about four sisters that live in Massachusetts who struggle with their transition from childhood to adulthood. The production is led by Leigh Powell who is the head of the drama department at BHS. On August 10, the first day of school, the cast members met in their first block class and began a read through of the entire script. This week they have begun blocking, set planning, and planning costumes.

The cast will be performing a preview of the show on Monday and Tuesday, October 24 and 25, at 7:00 p.m. at the Kirbo Center. They will then perform later that week on Saturday, October 29, at Cairo High School for the regional competition. If they manage to win at the regional competition, they will then attend the state competition on Saturday, November 19, at Warner Robins High School.
