The BHS Drama Department started preparing for the wonderful production of “Chicago: Teen Edition” in early January of 2023. The production took place at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center, more commonly referred to as the Kirbo Center. The drama department presented the Chicago performances on: Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m., which was considered Preview Night; Thursday, April 27, at 7 p.m., which served as Opening Night; and Friday, April 28, which featured a double performance at 8:30 a.m. for BHS students who paid a reduced price of $3 each, and then a show at 7 p.m. On April 29, they also performed two shows, one at 2 p.m. and one at 7 p.m. The show at 7 p.m. was a special performance, and at the conclusion of it, Mrs. Leigh Powell, Mr. Christopher Poppell, and Mrs. JoAnn Moore all prepared gift bags for the graduating class of 2022–2023.
To conclude this article I would like to dedicate this to the Seniors: Shayla Allen, Isabelle Campbell, Breyanna Collier, Emily Franke, Peyton “Alex” Hatcher, Kendrick “Kenny” Henry, Sanaa’ Hines, Skylar Jones, Ashariah Keaton, Jebson “Jeb” Logue, Teri McCord, Mauro Padron Jr., Saraiyah Porter, Lesley Rivera Vargas, Brennyn Timmons, Jaqavious Wallace, and Jimmy Williams, “IN FIFTY YEARS OR SO, IT’S GONNA CHANGE YOU KNOW”. I’d also like to add that you have to work for your futures; they don’t just happen by themselves. Nothing in life is impossible as long as you take the first step and pursue your own dreams rather than living in someone else’s.
