On Saturday, March 18, 2023, the BHS Bearcats and Lady Cats competed in their fifth match in Albany, GA, at the L. C. Benson and Winifred Smith 2023 Invitational.  Both teams competed against 18 teams. The Lady Cats finished 3rd and the Bearcats finished 7th out of 18 teams.

In the 100 Meter Dash, Nya Blocker placed first with a result of 12.10, and Elexis Warner placed ninth with a result of 13.32. 

In the 200 Meter Dash, Nya Blocker placed first with a result of 25.30 and Tierra Guyton placed twenty-sixth with a result of 31.44. 

In the 400 Meter Dash, Ashley Mosely placed ninth with a result of 1:05.67

In the 800 Meter Dash, Zamiyah Ofton placed fourth with a result of 2:40.78

In the 1600 Meter Dash, Lena Wilson placed sixth with a result of 6:43.74.

In the 100 Meter Hurdles, Arrieanna Hines placed fifth with a result of 19.01

In the 300 Meter Hurdles, Chynae Palmer placed fifth with a result of 52.77, Arrieanna Hines placed eighteenth with a result of 1:01.64, and Daviona Mckay placed twenty-first with a result of 1:04.50.

In the 4 x 100 Meter Relay, the Lady Cats placed second with a result of 50.32

In the 4 x 200 Meter Relay, the Lady Cats placed eighth with a result of 1:57.02

In the 4 x 400 Meter Relay, the Lady Cats placed fifth with a result of 4:31.68

In the 4 x 800 Meter Relay, the Lady Cats placed sixth with a result of 13:22.63

In the High Jump, Denisha Chappell, Zykeria Gadson, and Kyra Green tied for fourth with a result of 4-6.

In the Long Jump, Nya Blocker placed first with a result of 17-4.35, and Elexis Warner placed eighteenth placed with a result of 13-9.

In the Triple Jump, Ashley Mosely placed seventh with a result of 31-9.5.

In the Discus, Treasure Jenkins placed second with a result of 103-11, and Savannah Haire placed thirty-fifth with a result of 35-3.

In the Shot Put, Treasure Jenkins placed second with a result of 37-6, and Savannah  Haire placed thirty-sixth with a result of 12-8.

In the 100 Meter Dash, Keenan Phillips placed fifteenth with a result of 11.81, Roderick Hamilton placed nineteenth with a result of 11.91, and Travious Freeman placed thirtieth with a result of 12:56.

In the 200 Meter Dash, Tashun Carter placed seventeenth with a result of 24.90, and Jaden Holt placed twenty-ninth with a result of 26.55.

In the 400 Meter Dash, Jordan Olds placed twenty-first with a result of 58.34, and Zion Smith placed twenty-eighth with a result of 1:02.03.

In the 800 Meter Dash, Lyric Pennywell placed thirteenth with a result of 2:22.39, Dezhron Donaldson placed seventeenth with a result of 2:28.05, and Eric Lewis placed thirtieth with a result of 3:10.55.

In the 1600 Meter Dash, Jahlae Sapp placed ninth with a result of 5:09.91, and Gambler Dollar placed twenty-fifth with a result of  5:42.33.

Also, In the 3200 Meter Dash, Jahlae Sapp placed sixth with a result of 10:42.47, and Gambler Dollar placed seventeenth with a result of 12:26.74.

In the 110 Meter Relay, Jace Weaver placed fourth with a result of 16.36.

In the 4 x 100 Relay, the Bearcats placed fifth with a result of 45.11.

In the 4 x 200 Relay, the Bearcats placed eleventh with a result of 1:43.71.

In the 4 x 400 Relay, the Bearcats placed seventh with a result of 3:55.95.

In the 4 x 800 Relay, the Bearcats placed eighth with a result of 10:00.06.

In the High Jump, Braylon Phillips placed fifth with a result of 5-10.

In the Long Jump, Keenan Phillips placed first with a result of 20-2, Roderick Hamilton placed fourth with a result of 19-1.5, and Jordan Olds placed twelfth with a result of 17-9.

In the Triple Jump, Roderick Hamilton placed third with a result of 40-6, Jordan Olds placed fourth with a result of 38-10.5, and De’Shawn Smith placed eleventh with a result of 34-7.

In the Discus, Kahleem Murphy placed sixth with a result of 106-0, Samuel  Haire placed eighteenth with a result of 87-0, and Randy Johnson placed twenty-eighth with a result of 73-1.

In the Shot Put, Kahleem Murphy placed thirteenth with a result of 35-8, Travious Freeman place fourteenth with a result of 35-7.5, and Samuel Haire placed eighteenth with a result of 34-3.5.
