Tennis Tournament

The annual Valdosta Wildcat Invitational tennis tournament began on March 3 and ended on March 4. The Bearcats and Ladycats faced Taylor County, Berrien County, Crisp County, and Valdosta. On March 3, the Bearcats defeated Taylor County 4-1, winning 4 courts while losing one, and defeated Berrien County 5-0, winning all five of their matches. The Ladycats lost to Berrien County 2-3, but they defeated Taylor County 5-0 by winning all five of their matches.

Since the Bearcats won both matches on the first day, the Bearcats qualified for the winner’s bracket and got the opportunity to play the Valdosta Wildcats for the championship. The championship game between the Bearcats and Valdosta Wildcats took place on the second day of the competition. The Bearcats lost on all five courts, finishing in second place in the tournament.

As for the Lady Cats winning one match and losing one match on the first day qualified them to be in the middle bracket to play Crisp County for third place. The Lady Cats defeated Crisp County 4-1 to earn third place in the tournament.
