On January 31, the Bearcats and Lady Cats Varsity soccer team opened their season against Lowndes County in Valdosta, GA. With a score of 5-2, the Bearcats claimed victory. The Lady Cats’ game ended in a 1-1 tie.

Kennedy Jones is a Lady Cats wing, top, and defense player. When asked how she thinks she performed, Jones says, “I feel like I perform well, but I have a long way to go in terms of getting better.” The game, she said, was “very nerve-racking and exciting.” Jones believes the team is ready for the season but has “a lot of work to do.” Jones believes the team has a good chance of winning this season after coming close last year.
