On Tuesday, January 17, our Bainbridge Bearcats Basketball teams took on the Hardaway Hawks. For the first half the boys played magnificently scoring an impressive 35 points to Hardaway’s 17. After halftime the Bearcats came back with the same strength and scored another 28 points for a victory of 63-43. The Lady Cats also played, but were not triumphant. The ending score was 60-29.

Friday, January 20, the basketball teams played the Cairo Syrup makers, our rivals. The Lady Cats played first at 6:00 p.m. In the first quarter, the Lady Cats scored 20 points to the Syrup makers 19. After halftime the Lady Cats came back for a glorious victory of 44 to 37. Afterwards the boys’ basketball team played. In the first two quarters, the Bearcats scored 25 points to Cairo’s 17. For the second half of the game, Bainbridge scored 20 points to Cairo’s 28, tying the score 45-45. The teams went into a round of overtime with Bainbridge scoring 8 more points and Cairo only scoring 4. The Bainbridge Bearcats triumphed with a score of 53-49.
