On January 7, the Bearcat Wrestling Team competed in the Duals Region Championship at Bainbridge High School. After a long day of matches, the Bearcats came out victorious, becoming the first wrestling team in Bainbridge history to win a region championship. Layton Burris, Malcolm Spann, Alex Pearson, Josh Fillingame, Zackary Burdick, and Bradley Marshburn won all of their matches, making them undefeated. The Bearcats qualified to compete in the Georgia High School Association AAAA Sectionals and to fight for a spot in the Elite Eight.

On January 14, the wrestling team competed in the Georgia High School Association AAAA Sectionals. The Bearcats fought hard and were very close to qualifying for the Elite Eight, but a narrow defeat to Heritage-Catoosa knocked them out of the running. The score was 36-33, making the team place 9th overall. The wrestlers are currently waiting for individuals. Congratulations to the Bearcats for winning Region!
