For the first time in school history, Bainbridge High School won the One-Act Region 1-AAAA Competition that took place on Saturday, October 29, at the Kirbo Center on the ABAC Campus. A total of five schools competed with the following shows:

Bainbridge High School – “Little Women” adapted by Marisha Chamberlain

Cairo High School – “darklight” written by Lindsay Price (produced through special arrangement with TheatreFolk)

Hardaway High School  – “Animal Farm” by George Orwell (adapted and created by Shake & Stir Theatre Company)

Shaw High School – “Flowers for Algernon” written by David Rogers

Westover High School – “Mind Games” written by Paul Elliot

The competition began at 9:00 a.m. with Bainbridge High School (BHS) and lasted until 5:00 p.m. At the awards ceremony BHS won two awards. JT Powell won an All-Star Cast award for his performance as Laurie in “Little Women”. Bainbridge High School won the One-Act region and will continue to state on November 19, at Northside-WR High School in Warner Robins. Lastly, Shaw High School won runner-up with their performance of “Flowers for Algernon”.
