On October 15, 2022, 3 JROTC cadets had the pleasure of flying in a Cessna aircraft. The cadets received 3 hours of practice in the plane in which they learned how to plot a flight path, file a flight plan, preflight an airplane, and pilot the plane itself. A retired USAF Pilot, Lt Col Pete Dominics, flew with the cadets from Valdosta to Tifton, then to Donalsonville, then back to Valdosta. If the applying cadets get into the AFJROTC Flight Academy, they will receive a $22,000 scholarship that will be used to attend pilot training.
