After playing the opening song, “Easy Lover” by Genesis, the band, led by Drum Major Joshua Fillingame, was split down the middle and the AFJROTC Saber Team filled the middle of the field. The announcer then called the former Homecoming King, Ty Levens, to the field to welcome the new King Jaqavious Wallace. He then began calling the Homecoming Court from 9th-12th grade in alphabetical order. After all the names were called, there was a great pause and the announcer stated, “The 2022-2023 Homecoming Maid of Honor is Sanaa’ Hines,” and then he said, “Could we have The 2021-2022 Homecoming Queen come and pass the crown to The 2022-2023 Homecoming Queen, Saraiyah Porter.” Following all of this, the Homecoming Court and Queen gathered in front of the field house for a grand photograph.
