Master Sergeant Scott Griggs is a new teacher here at BHS. MSgt Griggs has been teaching AFJROTC since 2001 and has taught in many different places such as: Hamilton County High School in Jasper, FL, Mitchell County High School in Camilla, GA, and T.W. Josey High School in  Augusta, GA.

MSgt Griggs grew up traveling the world. As a child he lived in Singapore and Thailand and visited places such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. He has also lived in various regions across the United States. When MSgt Griggs was a senior in high school, he joined the Delayed Entry Program and after graduation he went through Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB), Texas. After completing basic training MSgt Griggs was sent to Chanute AFB, Illinois where he trained as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Technician (AGE). MSgt Griggs retired from the Air Force in 2001 after serving 23 years.

MSgt Griggs says that during the eight years that he taught for Air Education and Training Command (AETC) he found that he “enjoyed teaching the technical aspects of aircraft maintenance.” He also said that the position allowed him “to travel around the country and Europe instructing Airmen at various locations.” In relation to Bainbridge High School, MSgt Griggs says that he decided to teach in Bainbridge because “Bainbridge and the surrounding area is a wonderful place to live and work” and that “Decatur County has an excellent school system that stems from the strong leadership displayed from the top down.” BHS is so excited to have MSgt Griggs flying with us!
